Live Wire String Quartet
The Live Wire String Quartet (LWSQ) utilizes music to support student learning in the core curricula areas of language arts, math and social studies. Classroom musical presentations, which are highly interactive and lively, are provided free of charge to under served Baltimore City elementary schools.
From 1998-2006, with the guidance of top arts education consultants under the auspices of the Baltimore Symphony’s Arts Excel program, LWSQ developed six curriculum-based presentations for grades K-5.
LWSQ believes strongly in the need and effectiveness of this type of program to bring positive changes to the school learning environment. To this end, LWSQ is continuing to serve Baltimore City school children by doing its own fund raising. The Baltimore Chamber Orchestra is the fiscal agent of LWSQ.
