Ashley Minner
In my artwork and in my life’s work, I am most inspired by the beauty of people. I try to show them in ways that are both honest and in a manner that they want to be seen, with honor and respect. I am interested in making obvious the divinity in people as well as the inherent fact that We Are All Related. Those who are enabled to recognize the divinity in themselves value themselves. Those who are enabled to recognize the divinity in others across race, class and other divisive factors, gain a sense of interconnectedness and love for their fellow human beings. I am interested in stories, songs, families, histories, travels, traditions, dreams, resourcefulness during hard times and everyone’s expertise in their own life. I make artists books, prints, mixed-media drawings and occasionally fiber pieces. My work is often collaborative in nature. It usually includes hand-written musings about life, life situations and the hilarity of the human condition.
